Our Myrtle Inventory
We have Myrtle slabs in stock online in sizes that usually range:
- Up to 30" wide
- Up to 11' long
- Up to 2" thick
Origin: Myrtle can be found in Southwest Oregon and Central California. It is sometimes referred to as Oregon Myrtle or California Bay Laurel.
Color: The heartwood of Myrtle can vary from shades of light brown with orange hue to a grey or olive color. The sapwood is generally lighter and defined.
Janka Hardness: 1270
Decay and Weather Resistance: Myrtle is not rated as decay resistent; decay in the heartwood is not uncommon.
Workability: Myrtle is known to be easy to work with. Tearout and burning when drilling can happen. It glues and finishes well.
Uses: Myrtle is commonly used to create furniture, cabinetry, instruments, veener, and gunstocks.
